Last year my daughter gave me a wine “sippy cup.” My sister’s mother-in-law gave me a neck strap wineglass holder. My brother-in-law got a kegerator. My husband got us some really awesome beer mugs and wine goblets that you put in the freezer before filling, so they keep your drink of choice at the optimum temperature.
And my son gave me the coolest ever drink scale/app (called The Perfect Drink). It precisely measures any mixed drink you can imagine (and many you never knew even existed)! Are you sensing a theme here?
Much of our lives revolve around family and food. And when you combine those two elements, it isn’t long until a third element – alcohol – makes its way into the picture. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s not like the alcohol component is necessary for us to have great family meals and times together, but let’s be honest… it does make it more fun! A nice wine with a classic dinner, a frosty beer as we’re eating homemade pretzels during football season, or a classy mixed drink while entertaining friends or family just takes everything up a notch.
Let’s face it, we can all get stuck in the day-in-day-out routine of get up, go to work, come home, eat, watch t.v., go to bed, repeat. Sometimes we all need a little something to break free from the same old same old. And this classic Cosmopolitan Recipe is one of the easiest ways to turn an average evening meal into something special. It’s light, a little tart and a little fruity, it pairs with nearly every food, and it just plain looks cool! The citrusy, tangy, vodka-y combination adds a bit of fun and a bit of life to any evening. No need to save this one for a special occasion; have one tonight. You’ve earned it!
P.S. If you need a little extra help (or a lot of extra fun) making this Cosmopolitan Recipe, I really do recommend The Perfect Drink scale my son gave me. It’s one of the best (and most entertaining) products I’ve come across in a long time! Plus it makes a great gift! This recipe is a classic, and comes directly from The Perfect Drink’s app.
P.P.S. I added a drop or two of grenadine to make the color a bit more red. It’s totally optional (but looks good!)
