Lemon Ginger Turmeric Shot | How To
This Lemon Ginger Turmeric Shot is a great way to get your daily dose of turmeric and ginger. It’s fresh and clean and has all of that peppery kick you’d expect.
Plus it will make you feel great!
I started making my own wellness shots when I needed to ensure I was getting a decent dose of anti-inflammatory ingredients in my diet. And there’s none better than the lemon ginger turmeric shot.
The ingredients are well known to reduce inflammation, boost immunity, and also provide a soothing effect on your digestive tract.
What Does Ginger Turmeric and Lemon do to the Body?
All of the ingredients in the lemon ginger turmeric shot have well-studied health benefits. They all reduce inflammation (see more information about inflammation below), are powerful antioxidants, and are overall immune boosters.
Ginger is great for calming nausea or an upset stomach. And the lemon is very soothing and high in Vitamin C, which adds to the immune support properties of the wellness shot.
Why is Inflammation Bad?
Two types of inflammation occur in the body. Chronic and acute. Acute inflammation happens when you have an injury or infection and the body is reacting to this to heal.
Acute inflammation is good for the body. It’s what allows your own body to heal itself.
Chronic inflammation is a different story. This is when your body continues to pump out inflammatory cells, even though there is no immediate need to do so.
Over time, these inflammatory cells hang around in the body and cause all kinds of damage. They can cause everything from joint pain and stiffness to obesity to fatigue to heart disease to autoimmune disease to cancer.
To say chronic inflammation is bad would be an understatement. And the destructive properties of it are only now just beginning to be understood.
Needless to say, we all could benefit from reducing excess chronic inflammation. And a lemon ginger turmeric shot can do just that! The ingredients are loaded with anti-inflammatory properties. (Just like my anti-inflammatory soup!)

Can You Take Ginger and Turmeric Shots Every Day?
These wellness shots are incredibly good for your overall health. Yes, you can drink them every single day. In fact, you probably should drink them every day.
The anti-inflammatory effects of the ginger, turmeric, and pepper will reduce the nasty effects of chronic inflammation and give you a boost of energy. I definitely try to drink one every day!
Yes, I do my very best to only consume healthy ingredients, but I cannot lie… occasionally I do indulge in something creamy and decadent (like my caramel brulee latte). And that’s ok! You don’t need to be perfect all the time. Just try to incorporate the good stuff as much as you can.
Ingredients In This Recipe (full recipe below)
- Turmeric – this is the big daddy of natural anti-inflammatory ingredients. The curcumin in turmeric has been long-known to fight all kinds of inflammation and has been used for centuries to treat ailments. Curcumin is what gives turmeric its distinctive yellow-orange color. It is better to use fresh turmeric, but since that can be hard to find, it is okay to substitute with ground turmeric.
- Ginger – also loaded with inflammation-fighting properties. Ginger has been shown to inhibit the inflammation-producing chemicals in the body. It is known for its strong peppery taste.
- Lemon – loaded with Vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant, which can help with rounding up those excess free radicals in your body.
- Orange – Like lemon, this is loaded with Vitamin C. I also like to add it for the sweet taste.
- Pepper – As great as turmeric is, the body doesn’t absorb it very well. Until you add pepper! (I really don’t quite understand the science behind that one lol!). But adding pepper will make that turmeric much more effective.

Turmeric Tips
Turmeric stains. It stains your hands, your countertops, your cutting board, and yes even your teeth! It is best to use gloves or immediately wash your hands after touching it.
I have found it best to use glass measuring cups and storage containers to reduce turmeric stains. I also immediately wash my cutting boards as soon as I’m done cutting the turmeric. Kind of a pain, but totally worth it! (And don’t forget to brush your teeth after you’ve enjoyed your lemon ginger turmeric shot!)
This recipe makes enough for about a week’s worth of wellness shots! I personally try to drink one every day! There’s no question that it has helped me feel better. The results are undeniable! Enjoy!
