A Camping Wine Party and Bruschetta

I am very happy to be working with and compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser to help you put on an awesome Camping Wine Party! All opinions are mine alone. This content is intended for my readers who are at least 21 years old. #Chardonnation #NotableSummer #CollectiveBias

We campers love our wine (and beer and other such adult beverages.) There’s just something about holding that glass of chilled chardonnay as you take a deep breath of fresh mountain air while you watch the sun disappear below the horizon. And that “something” is made even better if you’re sharing the moment with family and friends. Time for a camping wine party! A casual, but elegant wine party that’s easier to pull together than that impromptu bocce ball game.Wine Party Pouring Wine

I am right up there at the top of the list of campers who love wine. I know what flavor profiles I like in a chardonnay and I know what to pair it with (like this awesome goat cheese and pepper jelly bruschetta, but we’ll get to that in a minute). However, I’m not exactly a sommelier. I’m not awesome at being able to walk into a wine or grocery store, look at a wine label, and determine if it will be that crisp-fruity bright flavor or the buttery-oaky smokey type. (Both are great, but I do like to know what I’m getting!) Well, my friends, all that has changed!Wine Party Head On Close Up

Enter Notable wine. It’s all on the label – the front of the label! I have no idea why it took the geniuses in the wine industry so long to figure out that it would actually be helpful to put the flavor hints and notes one can expect out of a bottle of wine right on the front of the bottle label… But now it’s there, thanks to Notable. Do you want a “fruity and crisp” chardonnay? It’s right on the front of the label. Are you after “oaky and buttery?” Look no further than the front of the bottle!Wine Party Straight On

The label design is also very helpful. Keeping in “tune” with the whole “note” theme, Notable has cleverly and artistically designed the label using music notes (after all, the only thing that pairs better than bruschetta with great wine is great music). The music notes on the label highlight the “notes” of the wine flavor. Pretty cool! Woo hoo! Notable has made my wine drinking life a whole lot easier! And it will make your camping wine party easier too.

The Essentials of a Successful Camping Wine Party – Wine and Bruschetta

  • Gather at your campsite with some great friends and awesome family members
  • Bring out your favorite chilled Notable chardonnay that you easily found because the flavor notes are listed right on the front label (Click here for more information!)
  • Serve up a beautiful platter of elegant goat cheese and pepper jelly bruschetta (goes really well with the fruity and crisp Notable chardonnay)
  • Raise your glasses (in this case, probably plastic camping wine tumblers like I use) and give a toast to the good life
  • Watch the sky turn pink, then orange, then red as the sun sinks below the horizon
  • Eat more bruschetta, pour another glass of wine, and take in the moment – these are the moments to remember

If you want to elevate your party to a whole new level, try having a little fun with blind wine tasting. Pour a glass of the fruity chardonnay and a glass of the oaky chardonnay, have your guests taste each one and see if they can guess correctly. Back to the bruschetta. This one is so easy that I’m not even putting a recipe card below! Here’s all it takes to make this awesome Goat Cheese and Pepper Jelly Bruschetta: Slice a nice loaf of French bread into thick diagonal slices. Toast both sides of each slice on your grill or in a skillet on your camp stove. Smear a creamy, thick layer of tangy goat cheese on each slice, and top with jelly of your choice. (I prefer raspberry pepper jelly that you can buy pre-made in most higher end grocery stores. Or just add a pinch of cayenne to your regular raspberry jelly.) Serve with the Notable chardonnay of your choice and enjoy your awesome camping wine party!Wine Party Bruschetta in Hand
